What Rock Bands were anti-Royal?
Real Crash- Looking at the Financial System and the War Drive:
Yes, what rock bands have been anti-royalty, anti-British monarchy, or anti-British in general?
Let's see, the Sex Pistols, were the ultimate anti-British royal family outfit, with their hits "God Save the Queen" "We're So Pretty, We're Vacant" and "Anarchy in the UK." Of course, they had to make a few sacrifices along the way, directly or not, such as "Sid Vicious."
The Clash had some sort of obsession with the UK, as in their song "London Calling" that is about some type of nuclear apocalypse, set in London UK. Was London calling for the new Ice Age?
On the other hand, the Beatles were rabidly pro-Royalty, as seen in such cheesy numbers as "Penny Lane." "And in his pocket is a portrait of the Queen (violins play), He likes to keep his fire engine clean, it's a clean machine."
The Rolling Stones were quite pro-royal, though they think of themselves as the royalty, as in their album "On his Satanic Majesty's Request." "Street Fighting Man" is more about fighting cops and sneering.
Any more popular themes suggested for "Crapping on the Brits" (yes, I know it is not really the British people's fault, and I have lots of Anglo-Saxon friends, but they should join the American Revolution.)
