Real Crash - by Howard

We can avoid nuclear war by putting the financial system into bankruptcy reorganization.Need Glass-Steagall Act, water projects, space program. Need a change to production, the real American System.

Solar Power or What Else? Nukes

Green Power is Solar or What? Some of my Australian friends have suggested that nuclear power is bad for the environment, and just something they can do without. See the link.. Of course, with all the bad propaganda, what do you expect? But how can the relatively small island nation of Japan have 27 nuclear power plants and the Aussies have none in an area of almost 3 million square miles? It's a disgrace. For the other side, see http://www.climatered.com/

Solar power will never cut it for general use in an industrial civilization. It only has enough energy flux density for isolated and special applications.

Many years ago there was a "windmill orchard" in the foothills east of the San Fransisco area. There were hundreds of them. Something of an eyesore once the novelty wore off. I haven't been there in 20 years or more, so I don't know what happened with them. But since they aren't being used as the wind-power flag ship, I assume they didn't live up to the expectations. Nuclear energy comes with a fear factor since the "China Syndrome" although it didn't really happen. Hydro-electric works pretty well, especially out west. But there have to be new energy sources in development that we won't hear about until they're on the market. Necessity being the mother of invention, you never know what the next breakthrough will be!
