Since January 3rd, the collapse of the international economic system has accelerated. The Bush tax rebate, and the Democratic agreement is the idiocy that will not work. You can bring the crisis under control, but we can't just "let the good times roll" all over again, we have to save our civilization. What is in danger is not just poor nations, but the trans-atlantic English speaking community of the USA, Canada, the UK, and so on. This has been rolling in since the collapse of Countrywide Home Mortgages and the foreclosure crisis, the subprime crisis in July 2007. Hillary Clinton's proposal for a moratorium on home foreclosures is a start but not a finish. The banking system must be put under national bankruptcy protection too.
I have been making jokes with pop songs about this collapse and the system. Whitney Houston said, in one of these songs: "I want to dance with the system". And yes, we have been dancing with the system, but it is now falling on the floor. The collapse of the rating of bond insurers AMBIAC and the other one, means another $67 billion hole in the system again, immediately, going to a potential $1 trillion hole.
