Cadillac Health Plans

Real Crash- Looking at Capitalism and its Laws:
The administration calls them Cadillac Health Plans and wants to tax them at 40-percent, and in effect outlaw them, but what is the truth? Sure you can buy a health plan for $1200 a month, or $14,000 a year that sort of covers a family of two parents and one or two children, but what is the reality? This is what is being voted on in Massachussets, where Republican Scott Brown has a real chance to take the Senate seat of the late Ted Kennedy (Dem.- Mass.).
There are so many co-payments involved that someone going to the hospital and treated for cancer or heart disease can easily pay $50,000 or much more, in co-payments on such a plan. That means that a real health plan that covers everything under the current HMO/PPO system (with loot for the AIG centered insurance companies) really does cost $23,000 a year for a family of four. Remember, that if you don't have the $50,000 cash under the big-deductible plan, the doctors may refuse to treat you or your loved one. Plus, union employees such as firemen, policemen, coal miners, etc. have to pay higher premiums because the insurance companies charge them more for being in dangerous professions.
Another reason why those in Massachusetts should vote for Scott Brown, and against the Obama Health care plan. It's part of the Mass Strike, and Larouche is telling it like it is.
Spoof song- Pink Cadillac, by Bruce Springsteen
They say that the plans just cost too much money;
Even in a cop's contract;
The middle-class can't have good health care;
That's only for aristocrats;
The oligarchs want much less people;
Including in these 50 states;
Genocide and Mr. Obama;
For mass death, they can't wait;
If you want more economic resources;
Back to the Moon and Mars, and don't wait;
So don't tell me bout your Pink Cadillac, your Pink Cadillac;
Workers and peons, go out in the back;
Slave society, for the oligarchy;
American Revolution, come back to me;
I don't want to sit in the bus in the back;
It ain't no Pink Cadillac, Yeah!!!
Pink Cadillac, Pink Cadillac;

Folks like firemen and police officers are generally covered by their city, county or state plans so their profession does not enter the picture when we are talking about uninsurable situations based on employment. The other issues like mine workers and pilots are generally covered by their company or union sponsored group plans. Workmens Compensation Insurance covers on the job injuries and this coverage should be free of copays and coinsurance. The coverage is normally 100 percent. On the job injuries are generally NOT covered by group or individual health plans. A self employed security guard, roofer or bush pilot might have an issue getting health insurance coverage.
The cost of health insurance coverage varies greatly around the country and is difficult to compare because of state mandates, over 2500 of them nationwide. New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts seem to be the highest costs with coverage in those states running three to five times higher than similar coverage in Georgia or Florida. Under Obamacare the rural states will now be able to enjoy health insurance rates similar to those enjoyed in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
Incidentally, it was not the insurance side of AIG that collapsed, it was the financial side. Most of the elected insurance commissioners in the country encouraged the State of New York not to allow AIG to move money from their insurance side to their financial side. The politically appointed insurance commissioner in New York, a Democrat, chose to not honor the request. The state of Georgia shut AIG down for a while until the feds got involved. AIG is primarily a property and casualty insurance company, not a health insurance company.
Go Mass ... elect Brown!!!

Note, while Ga. may dread the high NY rates, we in NYC, and in the Bronx dread losing many clinics and hospitals that service the poor and lower middle class.
