With the fall of Bear-Stearns (or as they say, "bought" by Chase at a penny on the dollar), we have reached the point of decision. We in the USA, Europe, etc. will get a New Bretton Woods now, or else you can guess the rest...
The three point program for salvation is: 1. Adopt the Homeowner (Mortgage) and Bank Protection Act 2. Set up a two-tier credit program at the US Treasury with loans at 1 to 2-percent for chosen infrastructure projects and other necessities of real life, and let the rate hit the ceiling for almost everything else 3. a New Bretton Woods conference to restore stable parities of the Euro, the Br. Pound etc to the US Dollar. Don't worry we've sent memos on this to Hillary, Barack and John Mc.
