BETA Spaces Party in Brooklyn, NY

Real Crash- Looking at Capitalism and its Laws:
Now in its third year, BETA Spaces promotes and facilitates open dialogue among curators, artists and visitors. This huge party event is today Sunday Nov. 8th from 12 noon to 7 pm. The free, one-day festival features hundreds of artists in over thirty curated shows. Events have suggestive names such as "The Other Side" - mixed media new paintings at 83 Wyckoff St. and "Space is the Case.." at 1 Grattan St. From reading the program, I suspect that this is an artsyed up abandoned gas station. Perhaps the USA can collapse and then be artsyed up by President Obama as a "Green Exhibit" featuring abandoned cities with little patches of urban agriculture in between.
All locations are in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, NY, New York
City. Special events include a panel on public art production at Lumenhouse- 47 Beaver Street, at 1pm, and the BETA Spaces After Party at 76 Jefferson Street, which will give visitors and artists a space to unwind and discuss the events of the day, and also to get shitfaced- 7pm - midnight. Arts in Bushwick is also excited to partner with 3rd Ward's Moviehouse, 95 Morgan Avenue, which will screen films from 7 - 9pm.
It's kind of sad. Is this event a desperate attempt to jack up the collapsed real estate market in Bushwick, a black and puerto rican ghetto that is a focus of an attempted artsy real estate bubble.
